Day 2… got an early start in downtown, off the dock just after 6am when the rain stopped. EVERYTHING WAS WET AND COLD. Was an uncomfortably cold morning until almost 11am. Made it to Lockport Lock and had to wait almost an hour, which isn’t bad for locks on the Illinois. Gave me time to make lunch and chat with some other boaters I knew from Chicago that were on their way to Seneca for winter storage.
I stopped in Joliet and tied up on the free wall. Theres power so we are livin’ in luxury tonight! Cranking that space heater to 11!
Got the lifeline netting installed on the port side. Was about as much fun as a root canal. Will wait till I have the energy and warmer weather to do the Starboard side. Bosun is claiming I’m “turning this boat into a prison” he’s not wrong…
Hoping for warmer weather the rest of the week!
