Decided after 14 days of nonstop travel, we had earned one day off in a marina. Though we spent all day working on and cleaning the boat. Dad and I pulled the chainplates as there was evidence of leaks forming and there’s no better time to do it than when the mast is down. Cleaned them up and re-bed them, should be good to go! (chain plates are where the mast stays attach to)
Mom did more cleaning and organizing, Bosun and Hurley supervised.
We went to Patti’s for dinner, a sprawling restaurant complex that was already fully decorated for Christmas. It felt like zoo lights without the bitter cold and no animals… Great food, but the uniforms were a bit handmaids tale-ey for my taste 🤣
Today we got up, had breakfast and set off for Paris Landing Tennessee. Dad came with and Mom took the car on some errands and sightseeing.
Was a smooth flat day on Kentucky lake, on the chart you can see when you go over bridges, roads and towns that existed before Kentucky lake was created. There is an interesting history in this region with areas that were flooded by the TVA and other authorities to create lakes and dams to create power for much of the area. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s the background plot to Deliverance.
Paris landing is a cute state marina, and at $.80 a foot it’s hard to beat!
Headed to Birdsong Marina tomorrow.
Cheers!
