Day 21

Day 21? I think?

Wowza that was not our longest day by distance, but certainly our longest day by time underway.

Woke up to a chilly but beautiful sunrise in Clifton, frost on everything…

Got underway pretty early since we have the current working against us. Passed lots of scenic views, a couple of really nice houses, but no tows today.

Our destination was Pickwick State Marina, just on the other side of the Pickwick Lock and Dam, unfortunately we had an almost 2 hour wait at the lock. Wouldn’t have been a big deal except the dogs were very eager to get to shore and driving in circles really makes them go crazy.

Once we got through it was a dark but easy entrance to navigate, tied up, heat is on, and dinner is on the stove. Was hoping for a shorter day so I could get some work done this evening, but that didn’t happen. Looks like rain tomorrow AM so maybe I’ll just get up early and work till it stops.

9 Travel days and 401nm till the gulf! Tomorrow night I believe we will be anchored in Mississippi somewhere…
