Monday I spent all day getting caught up on work and catching up on marketing tasks. Gotta pay those bills! After working I took the dogs to shore for a solid 4 mile walk, they have been well behaved but I can tell they needed some shore time. That evening I met up with some former Xtreme Xperience co-workers for dinner and drinks, was great seeing some familiar faces.
Today I worked in the morning then spent the afternoon doing some preventative maintenance. They say an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of pork roast, or something like that.
Cruising really is just fixing your boat in scenic locations. Moved the boat to a anchorage with more clean ocean tidal water and jumped in to scrub her bottom. Not much growth, but the front of the keel has almost no bottom paint left from the few soft groundings we had on the rivers. Whoops! It also seems my cutlass bearing is due for replacement, so I see a haul out in my not to distant future to sort those two issues. But that’s a next week Graham problem.
After my swim/scrub, I spent the rest of the afternoon changing both the primary and secondary fuel filters, bleeding the engine, installing a new impeller and then changing the oil & oil filter. It’s always a messy slow set of tasks, but after 200+ trouble free hours of motoring she deserved it.
Trying to get all my boat projects done before I head back to Chicago for a few days. Looking forward to another quiet but beautiful evening watching the sunset here in Longboat.
Cheers y’all
