Batten down the hatches
Batten down the hatches! Literally!
Batten down the hatches! Literally!
Here in Marathon we are preparing for some heavy weather over the next 24 hours! Going to drop in temp, get some rain, and BIG north winds.
We spent a lot of yesterday working on Road Rallies but took some time in the morning to get ready for this big blow. I’ve got two anchors out, and strategically tucked myself into the lee of the mangroves so it shouldn’t get too rocky.
As I’m writing this the wind just jumped up to 20 knots and the drizzle started. One fellow harbor mate aptly announced on the VHF “here it comes! See everyone on Monday!”
I imagine it will be pretty quiet here for the next 24 hours as we all keep a careful eye on our boats and the weather…
I’ll still take this over snow 😎
