Well, we are still in The Villages.. Oops, I mean Boot Key Harbor. Which is essentially The Villages for Sailors (for those who don’t know the villages is a massive retirement community here in Florida, look it up, its… odd)
The boat is almost ready to go, I say almost because in the last week, the fuel pump developed a leak, the new one should be arriving today… Then we should be good to go.
Pet permits are approved, and cruising permits are submitted and paid we just need a proper weather window. Which, hasn’t happened yet. It is looking like Thursday may be a good day to jump up to Key Largo, then Friday cross to Bimini.

Today’s photo update is the cartoon that started this adventure. I first saw it 4-5 years ago, and it really got me thinking about life on the water. The last year in Chicago it was taped to my fridge, a daily reminder to work toward the goal of sailing away.
I will say, while Marathon is great, it is slowly sucking the life out of me. I need to get to a remote Island, with clean clear blue water STAT. The keys are nice, but I’m more than ready to weigh anchor and get the hell out of dodge.
