I was really missing diving in that turquoise blue Bahamian water, the universe heard my cry presented me with a very cool opportunity today….

My friends at Underwater Safaris Chicago reached out Thursday and asked if I’d be interested in being a volunteer diver for a regional highschool underwater robotics competition. Diving? ✅ Robots ✅ Unique STEM opportunities to teach kids cool new skills? ✅ Count me in!

The is an underwater “course” we setup in about 12ft of water. There are a series of tasks and challenges each ROV has to complete in a set time frame. It’s been very cool to watch all the teams this AM work together to troubleshoot glitches that pop up before and during their time trials.

Being in the water means I get a front row seat to the action, and while a pool isn’t quite as beautiful as the Exumas, I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning!

I’ll post a bunch more videos on my personal page, FB only lets me post one here..
